Cliff is the Managing Director of Portfolio Strategies and is a General Securities Principal. He holds a BA in Chemistry from Carson-Newman College ('80) and an MBA in Finance and Economics from Indiana University ('82).
He spent a large part of his career as a fixed income trader at dealer banks and regional investment firms, including First American Bank in Nashville, Nike Securities in Chicago, and BB&T in Winston-Salem. Cliff then moved to the 'buy side' as portfolio manager at Wachovia Bank, where he managed the bank's $12B investment portfolio. Cliff brings wide-ranging experience in portfolio strategy and fixed income analytics to the Firm.
Cliff lives in Clemmons, NC, with his wife Jennifer and their three children. He is an avid cyclist.
