John T. Formichella

John began his career with Northern Capital as an intern where he gained extensive knowledge in fixed-income sales and trading, operations, trade support and Bloomberg analytics. During his internship with the firm, John completed his undergraduate studies at Boston University. In May of 2009, John received his B.S. in Business Administration, concentrating in Finance and Law.
In June of 2009, John joined Northern Capital as a full-time analyst. His responsibilities included fixed-income market research, analysis, and systems development. In November of 2009, John earned his General Securities Principal license (S-24). In March of 2010 John earned his Financial and Operations Principal license (S-27). In April of 2010, he earned his Municipal Securities Principal license (S-53). Upon completing his principal qualifications and training, John assumed many compliance and supervisory related responsibilities at the firm including trading and correspondence supervisory review. He assists in developing firm policies and supervisory control procedures. John was promoted to Vice President in August of 2010. His responsibilities now include delivering fixed income trading, portfolio analytics and strategies resources to institutional clients.
A native of Andover, Massachusetts, John is a member of the Board of Directors of the Andover Youth Foundation. He currently resides in the Beacon Hill neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts.
