Steve is a Managing Director and the firm’s Chief Market Strategist. Having spent over 20 years in fixed income investment management, advisory, and trading, Steve delivers a broad range of services to clients, including security selection, portfolio management advice and construction, and business growth strategies.
As Senior Portfolio Director at Freddie Mac, Steve was responsible for identifying and hedging interest rate risk in Freddie Mac's $600 billion mortgage portfolio. While at Freddie, he was one of five senior experts that created and implemented one of the world’s largest debt issuance initiatives, the Reference Note program.
As an institutional trader at Fidelity Investments, Steve was responsible for security selection for many of the fixed income mutual funds that totaled over $120 billion. He advised Fidelity portfolio managers on specific bond selection and relative value opportunities and transacted on behalf of the funds.
Steve's trading and advisory background includes experience as Executive Director in the Derivatives Products Group at Morgan Stanley, the global leader in derivatives. In the 1990’s, Steve co-founded the Analytics Group while Vice President at Dean Witter. He also advised institutional clients in all aspects of fixed income as Managing Director of the Institutional Client Group at Deutsche Bank.
Throughout his career, Steve has designed computer trading and relative value systems and has developed many of the portfolio tools in use at Northern Capital.
He received his degree from American University, where he played on the basketball team.
He and his wife are originally from Virginia and currently live in Concord, Massachusetts with their three children. |
