Tom J. McDonough

Tom is a Managing Director and the firm’s Chief Business Development Officer. After graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1986, Tom began his career at Fidelity Investments in Boston, Massachusetts where he was employed for 23 years.
Focused within the Investment Advisory segment at Fidelity, Tom has developed a deep understanding of the challenges investment advisors face and what makes them successful. For ten years, he served as Director of New Client Implementation. In the role, Tom successfully transitioned over 1,000 firms to the Fidelity platform including all types of advisors, from start-ups to billion dollar firms including many “Break Away Brokers”. Tom was involved in managing all phases of the transition process, including client training, new account set up, asset transfer, and electronic trading. Most recently, he served as Vice-President of the Separate Account Management and Intermediary Trade Support desk in Fidelity Capital Markets. In this role, Tom was actively involved in managing all operational trading areas, including allocations, trade reporting, trade settlement and electronic trading.
Tom brings to Northern Capital extensive experience and understanding of Investment Advisors and their businesses. Leveraging the broad capabilities of our seasoned trading staff, Tom’s role as CBDO is to set new standards in partnering with our clients to provide them with expert resources, superior service and quality fixed income execution.
Tom lives in Andover with his wife and two children.
